Why Train To Be A Warrior?

Ever since I was younger. I wanted to study martial arts. That passion really set in after watching movies by Steven Seagal. Now I know that there are many who do not like the level of violence that is portrayed in his movies but they held the interest of those watching. To some extent the idea that this level of skill could actually be achieved. I understand that Mr. Seagal's movies were above the top in violence, but that is what was so captivating to me and those that watched the movies.

Several years after seeing my first movies I was able to attend aikido classes. This went on for several years. Unfortunately the dojo that I attended was not a fit for me. I left formal training and went and did self studying in the martial arts conditioning. I have read several books some of which are in the following list.

  • The Book Of Five Rings
  • The Art Of War
  • Living The Martial Way
  • The Essence Of Aikido
  • The Spirit Of Aikido
  • Aikido And The Dynamic Sphere
Two years ago this coming January I embarked on my journey with Shito-ryu Karate. I have an excellent sensei. This has been beneficial to my current success with my training. As of this day I have reached the level of Nanakyu and look forward to my next test which I anticipate will be in the near future.

I am looking to take this training to the next level, achieving highest level of fitness training possible. I am giving myself one year for this transformation. I also will be taking my training to extreme levels so that I can be the best possible warrior. I will be pushing myself to hopefully the limits of my strength and endurance as to test the limits of what I can achieve. Keep watching this blog and you will see a change in me that will benefit me for the rest of my life.
