To help keep focused this coming year, look for something/someone to inspire you. That is part of the reason why I created this blog. I am also looking for support from my friends on Google+ to keep me on track and to inspire me to be a better person.

Here I will be posting short videos from my workouts and from my karate. I also will be posting pictures of my cooking and other things that I am doing for leading a healthier lifestyle. Lastly my goal over the next year (at least will be to post something on this blog every day.

The really blogging and inspiration starts January 1st, 2012!!!

Do you want to succeed?

To be successful at whatever you try this coming year you must really want it. I find that I have fallen short on that motivation because I was looking at it in with the wrong eyes. The following you tube link was shared with me via Google+. It speaks volumes. Listen to it and absorb this attitude into anything that you want to succeed with this coming year. Please enjoy.
Motivational Speech on how to succeed.

Why Train To Be A Warrior?

Ever since I was younger. I wanted to study martial arts. That passion really set in after watching movies by Steven Seagal. Now I know that there are many who do not like the level of violence that is portrayed in his movies but they held the interest of those watching. To some extent the idea that this level of skill could actually be achieved. I understand that Mr. Seagal's movies were above the top in violence, but that is what was so captivating to me and those that watched the movies.

Several years after seeing my first movies I was able to attend aikido classes. This went on for several years. Unfortunately the dojo that I attended was not a fit for me. I left formal training and went and did self studying in the martial arts conditioning. I have read several books some of which are in the following list.

  • The Book Of Five Rings
  • The Art Of War
  • Living The Martial Way
  • The Essence Of Aikido
  • The Spirit Of Aikido
  • Aikido And The Dynamic Sphere
Two years ago this coming January I embarked on my journey with Shito-ryu Karate. I have an excellent sensei. This has been beneficial to my current success with my training. As of this day I have reached the level of Nanakyu and look forward to my next test which I anticipate will be in the near future.

I am looking to take this training to the next level, achieving highest level of fitness training possible. I am giving myself one year for this transformation. I also will be taking my training to extreme levels so that I can be the best possible warrior. I will be pushing myself to hopefully the limits of my strength and endurance as to test the limits of what I can achieve. Keep watching this blog and you will see a change in me that will benefit me for the rest of my life.

Moving Along

With Monday out of the way I am hoping that the week gets better. I had some car problems this morning that made me 3 hours late for work. Started out being a bummer of a day.

Things did turn around. Still with out a car, but did come home with a new Kodak Easy Share C180 camera. I really needed this for being able to post pictures. I will be posting pictures and videos of my progress and the workouts that I am doing. In fact my co-worker that I got the camera from took a picture of me sitting at my desk. Really did not know that he was testing the camera out but the pictures turned out OK.

Just as a little back ground. I work in a hospital as a certified bio-medical electronics technician. I have several areas that I work in. They include but are not limited to surgery, anesthesia, gastroenterology, and respiratory.  I also maintain the patient beds and stretchers, patient monitors and the telemetry system through out the facility.

I hope everyone has a wonderful evening and will see you all soon.

A New Begining

My name is Paul. I am seeking to become a better person through exercise and the study of martial arts. I am a student of Shito-ryu karate. My goal is to become the best fighter possible. I will be taking you all on a journey through my training over the next year. If all goes well I will be continuing on even past a year and will continue to grow as a person and a warrior. I want to post not only commentary such as this but also videos that should the training that I am performing.

I do not have a training partner at this time so you will be my partner. Helping to keep me on track for reaching those goals. Hopefully you also will be inspired to achieve beyond your known capabilities with your own training. Please Follow me in my journey.
